A centuries old convent in a city inherited from ancient civilizations.

Pousada Convento da Graça is located in Southern Portugal, in the historical centre of Tavira, a typical city in the Algarve with an inheritance of ancient civilizations. It has been a Phoenician colony, populated by Romans, and also an important city during the Arab occupation.

This building was the convent of the Santo Agostinho Hermits founded by D. Sebastião around 1569. Recently transformed into a hotel, it was refurbished in a way that benefits from its history and ancient architecture.

The façade onto the main square and the noble Baroque inspired staircase, the Renaissance cloister from the 16th and 17th century, as well as the Arab archaeological remains discovered during the refurbishment all standout.
 
The rooms are varied and comfortable. The common areas are welcoming and offer everything needed to enjoy a few days away, to celebrate a special occasion at a banquet or to organise a corporate event.
